Debt Collection
I recently received a phone call from my friend in New York who is working there as an accoutant. It’s been a while since we had a really long conversation so we talked about almost everything, the kids , life in general and even her work. She is working for a debt collecting company now and they are handling big accounts in New York and in some other states in the country. She’s telling me stories about how the present economic situation of their country affects almost all businesses. She is still lucky to have her job after all. Being in a Debt Collection Agency , they are charged in collection debts ,loans and receivables from a company’s clients. They collect past due accounts referred to them by credit card issuers, banks, car dealers, retail stores, healthcare facilities—any business that extends credit or offers payment installment plans. They incur profit for the companies because of the payments that they are collecting. Currently, they are not affected big time by the slow down in the economy. They strive to hard to survive in the industry, and so far they have big companies as their clients. We ended the call when my kids woke up. Hopefully i’ll get the chance to chat with her again.
